Seaports of Niedersachsen has a new managing director

André Heim follows Timo Schön in the port marketing association’s management

The 41 year old business graduate follows Timo Schön, who is leaving the company on his own initiative. Prior to this, for seven years, Heim was already responsible for the marketing and communications department of the port marketing association.

Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH nationally and internationally represents the nine Lower Saxony seaports and local port associations. The company is primarily financed by private enterprise as well as by the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Economy. The member ports are represented by so called site managers.

The Cuxhaven Port Business Association (HWG) is looking forward to working with the new Seaports managing director. Chairman Hans-Peter Zint congratulated André Heim on the part of the HWG vis-a-vis his new position and said he was convinced that “the good working relationship between the HWG and Seaports will continue under Mr. Heim.“ Zint thanked Heim’s predecessor Timo Schön and emphasized that the HWG would remember the “trust-based relationship”. Now, however, the view must be forward-facing in anticipation of new challenges. “The HWG has been involved for years with Seaports of Niedersachsen and will continue this work into the future,“ promised Hans-Peter Zint. Oliver Fuhljahn, site manager of Seaports of Niedersachsen in Cuxhaven, emphasized: “As a link between Seaports and the HWG, I congratulate André Heim and look forward toward a continuing excellent and productive working relationship.”

André Heim is enthusiastic and confident about his new responsibility. “I am happy about new professional challenges and about the trust shown in me by the supervisory board. Together with the Seaports team, I want to intensively promote the interests of our nine Lower Saxony seaports. A new focal point will be the digital development of the umbrella brand Seaports of Niedersachsen for the global marketing of our seaports,” said Heim. Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH represents the nine Lower Saxony seaports as a port marketing association together with their many terminal operators. It also communicates to the global market the multifaceted services offered by Lower Saxony’s seaport locations.

The supervisory board president of Seaports of Niedersachsen, Karsten Dirks, emphasized: “We are glad that André Heim is now supporting us as a marketing expert with international experience, who is entirely acquainted with our processes and who, in his prior time at Seaports, has been able to develop a wide-ranging network in the port economy and in politics.”

Prior to his work at Seaports, André Heim worked for roughly five years for JadeWeserPort Realisierungsgesellschaft in Wilhelmshaven. In addition to André Heim, Felix Jahn will continue his work as second managing director, in particular as it relates to contact with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and with political entities.
